Describing this piece, Abby writes: “This is as a short and sweet comic illustrations that explores the nonsensical arc of self growth over time. Lingering in low feelings and moving through tough emotions has the capacity to nourish our sense of identity and propel us closer to our truest forms. Some say our skin gets thicker — I say we grow stronger.”

Abby Nowakowski is a queer interdisciplinary artist and art educator currently based in Central Frontenac. Through their work in printmaking, illustration, and handpoke tattooing, Abby advocates for care, shares stories, and creates space for radical softness. Driven by curiosity and kindness, their practice extends into art facilitation, collaborating on workshops and performances centered around queer ecologies and friendships.
